I turned off these Gboard features, and typing feels infinitely better now

The mobile keyboard technology is such a productive option for smart phones that it is filled with predictive written language, swiping typing, voice recognition, emojis and artificial intelligence. These features can sometimes distract, make typing errors or be confusing to the user which may even slow down their typing even more than initially. In as much as they are meant to help in typing quicker and smarter, this is at times distracting to the user and can lead to typing errors as well as brainless interfaces that may even make the users even slower than before.

Glide Typing

There are users who are fine with swipe typing, and people are aggravated by swipe typing as they prefer to press keys. The deactivation of glide typing resulted in the prevention of accidental typing of words owing to undesired motor movement of fingers on the screen.

Emoji Suggestions

Some this auto emoji features have become distracting once they begin appearing when typing. The option of turning off the emoji recommendations allowed keeping the conversation track and did not obstruct the appearance of distracting images when creating a long message or an email.

Clipboard History

Clipboard has saved materials done on the past that can be recalled easily but it sometimes sizes useless fragments. The interface was also clean and easy to follow with the pasted text being less confusing by turning off automatic clipboard suggestions.

Voice Typing Button

The icon of the microphone can simply be activated by typing. Here, the power to delete swiftly accessed voice typing and guaranteed unintended recordings as well as simplified it to have a uniform manual typing experience.

Haptic Feedback

Vibration of the keys has a tactile feed-back as a feedback but this may be too strong in the long run. Haptic has been switched off and that has led to reduced sensory load and slightly improved power consumption without reducing the comfortable typing rate.

Sound on Keypress

Accidental taps of the keyboards can be the sounds that are distracting in quiet locations. The fact that the keypress sounds could be turned off made typing a more covert procedure particularly during a meeting or a classroom or typing late in the night.

Personalization Data

The typing pattern teaches the personalization of the keyboard on improving suggestions. Personalization was minimal and therefore not wanted that compelled to reduce its shocking proposals and improved privacy without the need to reduce the consistency of keyboard playing.

Minimalisation of Themes and Layout

The intricate themes and congested layouts might be inserted to reduce the visibilities of the key. The alteration to a simple theme that was simple to read and type drastically decreased the error of typing in, especially the instance of fast conversations.

One-Handed Mode

Even though one-handed mode comes in handy with large devices, it can be employed in reducing the size of the keys and reducing the accuracy. This rendered the layout that permitted the whole layout of the key board inactive and two hand typing became less cumbersome to perform.

Learning Curve Benefits

After all these features were turned off, I realized that I typed slower initially due to the reduced level of automation. However, within the confines of days the accuracy had been enhanced, diversions minimized and typing itself was now more meaningful resulting in a simpler overall user experience during messaging, notes and emailing.
